Pulled Mushrooms just like pulled pork recipes are only as good as the sauce that goes with them. This holiday we made pulled king oyster mushrooms and here is the sauce that made the meal:
Pulled Mushroom BBQ Sauce
Makes around 1L
- 2 – 11oz cans of tomato paste
- 4 TBS Maple syrup
- 1-1/2 cups of soy sauce
- 1 TBS white Miso (optional, but does give that extra umami)
- 2 TBS Rice vinegar
- 1 TBS Apple cider vinegar
- 1 TBS Onion powder
- ½ TBS Garlic powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix all the ingredients together with a whisk until it becomes smooth. Adjust spice and/or sweetness to your liking, add to your pulled mushrooms and heat in the oven for a few minutes.
